Living Europe

Motivation
Introduced im Jahr 2019, the European Green Deal articulates an ambitious attempt to reshape
Europe’s economic and social systems in response to climate change. It does not simply advocate for environmental protection, but establishes a complex framework of regulations, incentives, and infrastructural transformations affecting housing, transport, industry, and energy production.
Inspired by Hundertwasser’s utopian ecological architecture, this project interprets the Green Deal as a process of spatial and societal reconfiguration. Europe appears as a network of urban and territorial zones gradually overtaken by vegetation, renewable systems, and organic forms.
Irregular growth patterns and layered structures visualize the slow negotiation between policy, technology, and daily life.
Rather than presenting sustainability as a finished ideal, the composition emphasizes transition. Green roofs expand unevenly, rigid structures soften, and natural elements infiltrate built environments. Ecology becomes a political practice enacted through long-term planning rather than instant harmony.
By translating environmental legislation into a visual ecosystem, the work frames the European Green Deal as both promise and experiment: a continental effort to redesign how humans inhabit space under ecological constraints.

Prompt:
"A detailed map of Europe depicted as a flourishing living ecosystem, inspired by the artistic style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The recognizable geographic contours of the European continent are filled with organic, irregular patterns, spiraling green corridors, and vibrant urban-nature mosaics. Within the map, miniature wind turbines, solar panels, and rooftop gardens are integrated into a lush landscape of forests and winding rivers. The style features rich textures, decorative swirls, and a bold palette of deep greens, earthy ambers, and Mediterranean blues. No
straight lines; the borders and internal structures are fluid and rhythmic. High-detail illustration with a folk-art aesthetic, emphasizing ecological unity and sustainable renewal across the entire continent."
